Sootie is a nineteen year old Brit ex-pat who lives in the Southern Drakensberg of South Africa. Sootie left Horsham, England and lived for ten years in Tanzania at Lake Manyara and Arusha. She then came down to South Africa and lived at Ballito on the Kwa Zulu Natal Coast for a couple of years before moving to Bushman’s Nek in the Southern Drakensberg.
In Tanzania, cat food was unavailable. So Sootie, Rosie (her feline mum), Freddie (her feline sister) were brought up on the fillet and rump of Masaai cattle. Living in South Africa, because Sootie turns her nose up at cat food, she receives sirloin steak every evening. Sometimes the diet changes to fresh hake fish. Sometimes when we celebrate she gets fresh trout.
At Bushman’s Nek she lost her sister and mum. She now lives with her human mum and dad. Mum is affectionately called the ‘Ol Bat’ whilst dad is, also affectionately, named ‘Fart’. For what reason he does not seem to know. BUT WE KNOW!
This is just a rap about Soot her life and the Old Fart’s writing. Her Mummsy (as Sootie calls her) works for six months of the year in England.
